Mom at Home in New Jersey

In August 1944, Mom returned home to New Jersey to again live with her parents. She got a job and waiting out the war writing letters. She worked most of the time at a label factory about two blocks from her parent's home. With the rationing of gasoline, this was a real plus.

Here is a photo of her in Tampa, Florida. The writing on the back of the photo is my dad's: "Jo + our apartment. The 3 windows are our bedroom. Or kitchen is in the back of the house. Taken Jan. 1943.

One website which describes the life of women during the war is:
"What Did You Do in the War Grandma".
